The Challenge
A small logistics startup needed a mobile platform to connect drivers and customers, but faced significant operational challenges. Manual tracking of deliveries caused frequent delays and errors, severely reducing customer satisfaction. Drivers had no automated way to update delivery status, leading to constant phone calls and miscommunication. Customers had no visibility into their delivery progress, resulting in frustration and complaints. The lack of real-time data made it impossible to optimize routes or identify bottlenecks. Paper-based proof of delivery was often lost or illegible, causing disputes. The company struggled to scale operations without a digital solution to manage their growing driver fleet and customer base.
Our Solution
We built a cross-platform mobile application using React Native to support both iOS and Android devices with a single codebase. The driver app includes real-time GPS tracking with optimized route suggestions, one-tap delivery status updates, digital proof of delivery with photo capture and e-signatures, push notifications for new assignments, and offline mode for areas with poor connectivity. The customer app provides live tracking of deliveries on a map, estimated arrival times, order history, and in-app support chat. The backend, built with .NET and deployed on Azure, includes automated reporting dashboards for management, real-time analytics on delivery performance, and integration with their existing systems. Azure Notification Hubs handles push notifications at scale.
